The State of Oracle Cloud in 2026

Luc Demanche
Sr. Director of Practices - Oracle

In 2026, cloud conversations are less theoretical and more operational.
Most organizations I speak with are no longer debating whether to move to the cloud. The real discussions now revolve around project planning, security, risk, governance, and how the AI initiatives are in constant changes.
Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly and driving change across every part of the business. Changes in data management, system performance, and especially adaptability mean that major players like Oracle must constantly evolve their offerings, such as the release of the new "AI Data Platform" service.
This is one of the reasons Oracle has significantly expanded Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. OCI is no longer positioned only as a hosting alternative. It is increasingly framed as a performance-oriented platform designed to support enterprise data and AI workloads at scale.

For organizations already running Oracle Database, E-Business Suite, or Oracle APEX, the alignment between application, database, and infrastructure becomes a strategic consideration. But alignment alone is not a strategy. Architecture, governance, and long-term operational clarity matter more than brand consistency.
Teams still operating on-prem face a different reality. Migration is still a relevant step in 2026. However, it shouldn’t be mistaken for modernization. In many cases, migration is the responsible first move. It quickly stabilizes aging infrastructure and reduces hardware risk. But meaningful transformation typically begins after migration. What we consistently see is this: migration creates stability. Modernization creates leverage.
Cloud was once the new standard. Today, multicloud is. The question is not which cloud to choose exclusively, but how to design environments intentionally so each platform serves a clear purpose.

From our vantage point at Talan – Oracle Technologies, 2026 is less about hype and more about a deliberate approach. Cloud should enable AI, automation, and agility, so organizations can move with confidence and create the conditions for sustained innovation and growth.
The question is not whether Oracle Cloud matters in 2026. It does.
The more important question is “What's Next?”
