Geodata for Financial Services : personnaliser la stratégie et les offres à l'échelle d'une rue

The Challenge
Banks and insurers are facing increasing challenges with profitability, even more so now in a complex environment where market shifts are sporadic and hard to anticipate. Customers now expect hyper-personalization with offers and their relationships with providers. This is further compounded by greater demand for territorial and environment compliance from industry regulators. To date there is no established standard or best practice yet in place.
The Solution
Talan developed a predictive geographic modeling offer allows banks and insurers to personalize their strategy and offers at local level. Across several assignments for regional banks and a French insurer, Talan modeled each territory by zone and sector across: real estate, healthcare, climate, and tourism diagnosing the business challenges, then defining and deploying a bespoke strategy by zone across the business lines concerned: marketing, sales and risk.
For one of our clients, we helped in addressing the impact of ‘declining snowfall’ which can present significant financial and operational risks for tourism businesses. This has become more prevalent with the increasing effects of climate change on destinations reliant on consistent weather patterns. Talan successfully delivered an intelligent full scale predictive model, with team training to onboard and roll-out in just 12 weeks.
The Impact
These projects generated more than 100 geodata use cases with demonstrable impact; risk cost reduction of up to 30% on the cases addressed, business uplift of up to 25% in priority zones, and more than 500 insurance products sold thanks to a new territorial risk model. Client teams are fully trained and autonomous with the tools and models, with zero maintenance costs thanks to the use of open data.
