Automotive Insurance: A datawarehouse in the cloud

The power of a Data Warehouse in the Cloud
The increasing total cost of ownership (TCO) of the traditional business intelligence environment, combined with lack of agility and high time-to-market, forced a key player in the automotive insurance and breakdown services market to consider new options for collecting, integrating and processing data in a cost-effective and agile way.
Read on to see how we created a new solution that not only meets these requirements, but helps our client leverage their data in the cloud at a whole new level.
Context
The total cost of ownership (TCO) of the traditional business intelligence environment, combined with lack of agility and high time-to-market, forced our client to consider new options for collecting, integrating and processing data in a cost-effective and agile way.
Challenges
That’s why they turned to Micropole’s*, a Talan company. experts to help them implement a new Cloud-based enterprise data warehouse to meet the following requirements:
- Build a new agile data platform.
- Integrate data from existing systems (such as SAP) with data from new sources (including Salesforce) seamlessly.
- Significantly reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of BI/Big Data.
- Set up the necessary tools to move to advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.
Method and Solution
We implemented a new Data Lake and Data Warehouse in AWS, using Data Vault 2.0 as a methodology to accelerate the data integration process while ensuring complete data traceability and auditability. We also implemented our own DV 2.0 engine using standard AWS technology to automate DWH data entry and integration.
The production environment is remotely supported by our experts to ensure data is delivered on time while optimizing costs.
*Micropole joined the Talan Group in October 2024.
